TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By registering a meter with Mounax, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Mounax Metering Services provides the following services:

• Submeter Supply: Provision of prepaid electricity submeters
• Submeter Management: Complete management of prepaid electricity systems
• Collection Services: Collection of all tenant electricity payments
• Service Fees: Deduction of agreed service fees from collected amounts
• Owner Payouts: Monthly refunds to property owners (collected amount minus service fees)
• Token Generation: Generation and distribution of electricity tokens to tenants
• Reporting: Provision of detailed usage and transaction reports
• Support: Ongoing technical support and customer service

Warranty

We provide a 12-month warranty for factory faults only. This warranty covers manufacturing defects and does not include damage caused by misuse, tampering, or external factors.

Liability Exclusions

Mounax Metering Services is not liable for any loss, damage, or inconvenience arising from:

• Tampering with meters or associated equipment
• Incorrect tariffs provided by the property owner
• Interruption of services due to network connectivity issues
• Events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure)
• Negligence or illegal acts by tenants or third parties

Service Availability

While we strive for continuous service, we do not guarantee uninterrupted service at all times. Maintenance, upgrades, or unforeseen technical issues may occasionally result in service interruptions.

Indemnity

You indemnify and hold Mounax harmless against any claims, damages, or losses arising from negligence or illegal acts by yourself, your tenants, or any third parties.

As the property owner, you agree to the following responsibilities:

• Purchase and Installation: You are responsible for purchasing and installing the submeter. Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician who will provide a compliance certificate.
• Registration: Complete the meter registration process with accurate information.
• No Tampering: Ensure that no tampering occurs with the meter or associated equipment.
• Correct Tariffs: Provide accurate electricity tariffs to Mounax for billing purposes.
• Cover Bills: Ensure that the total amount collected from tenants is sufficient to cover your Eskom/municipal electricity bills.
• Downstream Installation: The submeter must be installed downstream (after) the main Eskom/Council meter, not before it.
• Access: Allow access to Mounax Metering Services or our contractors as required for maintenance, inspections, or meter reading.

Contract Start Date

This agreement commences on the date of meter registration with Mounax Metering Services.

Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement by providing 30 days' written notice to the other party.

Obligations After Termination

Upon termination, all outstanding payments must be settled, and any remaining tenant credits will be handled according to our refund policy.

Key Change Tokens

If you wish to change meter vending keys after termination, there will be a cost for generating new key change tokens.

Monthly Payouts

Mounax Metering Services will pay out to the property owner on the last day of each month . This payout represents the total amount collected from tenants during the month.

Service Fees

Our service fee will be deducted from the collected amount before payout. The service fee covers:

• Token generation and distribution
• Payment collection and processing
• System maintenance and support
• Reporting and analytics
• Customer service

Outstanding Amounts

If there are any amounts owed to Mounax for services rendered, these will be deducted from your payout before the balance is transferred to your account.
